Being Justified
Romans 3:24
“Only man can be justified, precisely because only [Jesus] who is justified becomes ‘man.’”
—ETHICS
We are moved at the very center of our existence by the question of God. Not only in nature, but also in the long tradition of our Western culture, the question of God’s existence presses itself upon us. This question never sits easily with us, for we are both attracted by God and afraid of Him. We have doubt as well as faith. This struggle will never be finally settled until we embrace God’s love revealed in Jesus Christ. In this embrace we need not be overwhelmed, for in Christ we become more truly ourselves. For Christ as the second Adam mirrors for us the kind of person we are becoming. In Him we find our true being as we live by His words, grace, and Spirit.
Thought
Being justified means that we have come home, having been welcomed by the Father who ever beckons us.
