God’s Law as Demand
Galatians 3:11
“The man who is faced by God’s commandment as demand is thrown back upon himself and must live in this way.”

There is nothing helpful about God’s Law as demand, for the Law only accentuates our own inability to live according to its precepts. But the Law can drive us to Christ and, once having found His grace, can provide us with guidelines for ordering our lives. In the grace of God, we find the true center for our very being and, in obeying the law, we commit ourselves to constructive ways of living and acting in our world.

Lord, we thank You for Your grace which revolutionizes our inner being and sustains us in doing Your will. Amen.
