For What I Am Responsible

2 Thessalonians 3:13

“I am to rule over the earth which is and remains my earth, and the more strongly I rule it, the more it is my earth.”

—CREATION AND FALL

What I take more or less for granted, I tend not to care too much about either. For real care involves commitment and responsibility. I only care for that which I am also responsible. To adopt a strong sense of responsibility for our life and our world should not grow out of a desire for power, possession, or control, but from a mandate to care, nurture, and responsibly develop all that God has placed within our care. While I need to begin to care for what is mine, I am also to call institutions and government to responsibility.

Thought
Responsibility and care are dynamically related.
