Our Little Company as Part of the Church
Ephesians 5:19-20
“Thus all singing together … must serve to widen our spiritual horizon, make us see our little company as a member of the great Christian church on earth.”
—LIFE TOGETHER
Whether our church is large or small, it represents only a tiny part of the church on earth. This universal church seethes with diversity. Some of its more radical emphases we may find alienating. But when we are at prayer, gathered at the communion table, singing our praises, binding ourselves to care for each other, and entering our world to demonstrate the love and justice of God, then we are indeed one.
Thought
Radical diversity need never be a problem if we can continue to love each other. In fact we can learn much from each other if we are open to expand our horizons.
