Waiting for the Kingdom
Luke 22:27-30
“So between the death of Christ and the Last Day it is only by the gracious anticipation of the last things that Christians are privileged to live in visible fellowship with other Christians.”

In the joining together with other Christians to pray, hear the Scriptures, worship, serve, and fellowship, we keep alive in our hearts the flame of hope of the age to come where Christ will be all in all. It is in banding together that our life is nurtured, our hope sustained, and our faith encouraged. In being together, we share the promise that Christ is in our midst and His Spirit indwells our hearts and our community. In sharing life together, we anticipate the banquet of God’s fully established kingdom.
Meditation
The body of Christ consisting of very ordinary people is very special because of its hope in the things yet to come.
