At Rest in God?

Acts 17:26-28

“All human strivings and drives are finally directed towards God and can only find their complete satisfaction in him.”

—MEDITATING ON THE WORD

Made in God’s image, we are moved by the question of ultimate meaning, and, in the pursuit of seeking answers, we are faced with questions about God’s existence and His involvement in our lives. But we are not likely to receive complete answers to these questions. Moreover, our hearts are not fully at rest when we find our peace with God. We will continue to be troubled by ongoing questions regarding God’s involvement and will for our lives. Struggle and the ongoing journey of discipleship are more the order of the day than rest and arrival.

Prayer
Father, I thank You for the measure of certainty, protection, and peace You have given me. But I also wish to register my ongoing struggles and questions. Help me to live in faith and hope without seeking final answers, until I meet You face to face. Amen.
