In the Service of Love and Truth
1 John 3:18
“The truth still remains the greatest service of love which men can show each other in the community of Christ.”

We are to embrace God’s truth as normative for our lives. In the light of that truth we are to live, submitting to its call to change our ways, and to fall in step with its direction. Clearly, we all should encourage each other to live in this way. Thus our love and concern for each other should involve the call to love God’s truth and to embrace His ways.
Thought
We should love the other person with unconditional positive regard. But love, while it may cover a multitude of sins, should be a love that also calls the other to live in the light of God’s truth.
