The Word of the Community

The Christian church is to be concerned with many things, but its primary task is to build up the life of faith of its members. It cannot do this only through its ministry of worship, sacrament, and teaching. It also needs to do this through encouraging a life together of its members. Teaching needs to be practically focused to facilitate growth in knowledge and in common encouragement and help. And a common life together of commitment and care will always enrich our understanding of the Scriptures.
