A Common Life
Acts 2:42
“Christians … have common petitions, common thanks, common intercessions to bring to God, and they should do so joyfully and confidently.”
—LIFE TOGETHER
Simply to be together in Sunday worship where everything is determined from the front is a sad distortion of what it means to be the church. Life together for Christians is meant to be much more than that. Common prayers, sharing, encouragement, giving, ministry, and hospitality are some of the elements of such a life together. And we can only have such a common life if there is openness and commitment.
Meditation
If we cannot be the reconciled and serving community, we can hardly proclaim the good news that God is the God of reconciliation and the Builder of the new humanity in Christ.
