Intercession

John 17:20

“The very time we give to intercession will turn out to be a daily source of new joy in God and in the Christian community.”

—LIFE TOGETHER

Prayer for others, rather than for ourselves, is a strangely and surprisingly enriching experience. It not only teaches us to look beyond ourselves and to seek God’s face for the welfare of the other, but it makes us see the other in a very different light. The person for whom we pray becomes a person of new possibilities, for our prayer envisages change, renewal, healing, and transformation for such a person. Such prayer which focuses on the needs of others surprisingly contains blessings for ourselves as well.

Thought
Intercessory prayer is a great but secret service that we can offer to others.
