Surrendered to God

John 15:7-8

“Christian ethical action is action for freedom, action from the freedom of a man who has nothing of himself and everything of his God.”

—NO RUSTY SWORDS

The person who is truly free is the person who is surrendered to God. Those who have placed their hopes, aspirations, plans, abilities, future, and resources into the hands of God are truly free. This freedom from our own concerns and burdens—for our very life has been committed to God—frees us for actions on behalf of others. Sometimes that action may be prayer. At other times it may be costly service. But those actions on behalf of others must always flow from love and not compulsion lest our freedom be undermined.

Thought
The person who is free from self-concern is free for others.
