Nothing Is Lost
Romans 8:28
“What does ‘bring again’ mean? It means that nothing is lost, everything is taken up again in Christ…. Christ brings it all again as God intended it to be, without the distortion which results from human sin.”
—LETTERS AND PAPERS FROM PRISON
The miracle of God’s grace extended to us in Jesus is that nothing is ever lost. The life we led before we came to Christ is not lost, but is cleansed and reincorporated into God’s purposes. Our mistakes and wrong decisions while living the Christian life are not lost either. They can be forgiven and can become part of God’s way to instruct us and to shape our lives. And, of course, the good things are not lost either. They weave the very fabric of our lives and give us a heart of wisdom.
