The good news of Christianity is not that we find God, but that God finds us. He is already there before we start to seek Him. In Christ, God has fully entered our world with all its wonderful possibilities, but also with its shame and degradation. He could not possibly come any closer to us, for He has even entered our struggles and our suffering. He has taken upon Himself the sins that are ours in order to free us. Through this amazing friendship and commitment which expressed itself in His death on our behalf, He grants us the possibility of a new life.

Lord Jesus, thank You for coming to me with Your grace and love and for offering Your Spirit as the gift of friendship. Amen.
